Painted House by Painted.App
Your house, counted
What it is
A studio for one house at a time. Someone sends one photograph of a home from the street, and the engine paints it in one of twelve styles in four sets: The Architect, The Watercolourist, The Printmaker, The Seasons. The one they keep is printed on paper or canvas, up to 40 × 60″, or sold as the file.
The part no other house-portrait studio does: before checkout, the proof sets the photograph beside the painting and counts six things in each, windows, doors, gables, storeys, chimneys and porch columns. Any count that differs is named on the proof, and the buyer can ask for a free repaint. We built it because the engine sometimes moves a window, and a house with the wrong windows is somebody else’s house.
What it refuses
People: nobody in frame and no figure at a window, so the house is the portrait. Words: no house name, no agent’s sign, no wordmark or logo is painted as text. An invented house number: a number plate appears only where the photograph has one, and unlettered. Additions: no extension, no extra chimney, no different door. And any photograph that is not a building, which is turned away before the engine sees it.
One thing is left out on purpose, and the proof says so: with Tidy the Kerb on, which it is unless you switch it off, bins, parked cars, estate-agent boards and overhead wires stay out of the painting.
